As the Director of Philanthropy, you will be responsible for managing the development, planning, and implementation of all major and principal gifts and planned giving in the North & Central Texas and Oklahoma area. Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategies to ensure ALSAC meets its critical goals and supports overall business objectives efficiently and effectively.
2. Lead, mentor, and coach a team of professionals, providing guidance on goals, professional development, performance expectations, and metrics of success.
3. Responsible for managing a portfolio of principal gift donors through identification, discovery, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
4. Establish and enforce policies and procedures to enhance organizational effectiveness while operating within budgetary parameters. Proactively address issues and develop problem-solving skills among team members.
5. Maintain awareness of fundraising programs and hospital initiatives, actively seek ways to enhance individual giving revenue, and stay current with industry trends.
6. Review and evaluate monthly progress of revenue, identifying areas that require attention, and provide this information to staff. Complete and review reports, travel expenses, donor visit reports, and proposals.
7. Foster positive relationships with third-party organizations and volunteers in the assigned area, representing ALSAC-St. Jude's in a manner that reflects positively on the organization.
Job Requirements:
Thorough knowledge and successful track record soliciting and stewarding 6 & 7 figure gifts within major gifts and bequest/planned giving.
Extensive knowledge of planned giving, blended gifts, major gifts, and/or sales.
Thorough knowledge of bequest/planned-giving within the non-profit sector.
At least 3 years of direct management experience. Strong grasp of general management methods.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external partners.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for internal and external relations.
Ability to understand complex verbal and written instructions.
Familiarity with data processing applications.
Bachelor's Degree plus more than 8 years of experience. In lieu of education requirements, may substitute 8+ years of related work experience.
