Office Profile: The Division of University Advancement is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of external communications and all fundraising and friendraising activities, including alumni & family relations and church & community relations. University Advancement is an integral part of the university's ministry and outreach. Fundraising activities support academic programs, capital projects, athletics, endowments and student aid.

Role: The Philanthropy Coordinator supports the mission of Concordia University Irvine (a comprehensive Lutheran Christian university guided by Christ's Great Commission, develops wise, honorable, and cultivated citizens to serve society and the church) and, specifically, the mission of University Advancement (To increase awareness, engagement, and philanthropy to support a diverse community of wise, honorable, and cultivated citizens).

These efforts include the coordination of strategies, initiatives, and communications that encourage broad-based philanthropic support from alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the university. This position plays a key role within University Advancement by assisting in the planning, execution, and evaluation of annual giving programs, donor engagement activities, and data management. The Coordinator ensures that annual giving campaigns are well-organized, data-informed, and aligned with institutional goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:

ANNUAL GIVING

  1. Support the planning and implementation of all annual giving campaigns, including fiscal-year appeals, digital campaigns, direct mail, phone outreach, and special initiatives.
  2. Assist in developing campaign timelines and messaging.
  3. Coordinate CU Give Back by communicating with campus partners, organizing challenge gifts and campaigns, and maintaining records of donor acquisition/retention efforts.
  4. Monitor campaign performance, track key metrics, and prepare reports to measure progress toward annual goals.

DONOR ENGAGEMENT & STEWARDSHIP

  1. Assist with donor stewardship initiatives such as impact updates, honor rolls, milestone recognitions, and annual reports.
  2. Collaborate with Advancement Services, and other campus partners to strengthen engagement and giving pipelines.
  3. Assist with donor acknowledgment processes to ensure timely and personalized gratitude communications.

PROJECT & DATA MANAGEMENT

  1. Maintain accurate donor and prospect records within the university's CRM system; run queries and reports as needed.
  2. Coordinate mailing lists, data pulls, segmentation strategies, and donor tracking for annual giving efforts.
  3. Analyze appeal performance and report findings.

EVENT SUPPORT

  1. Organize events that help create a school-wide culture of philanthropy among students, faculty, and staff.
  2. Collaborate and assist Advancement Services with appropriate gift society member events including, but not limited to the following groups: Music/ Theatre/ Art Patrons, Golden Eagle Athletic Club Patrons, and Pacesetters/ Golden Pacesetters.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Full Time Staff, Non-Exempt

$23.08-25.00 /hr
