Position Summary

As a contributing member of the Center for Visual Art’s team, the Gallery Assistant will provide general support to uphold CVA’s creative mission and vision.

This is a temporary part-time position with up to 19 hours per week. ONLY DITA Grant recipients may apply.

  • Art handling & installationΒ Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β 
  • Gallery/building maintenance and daily cleaningΒ 
  • Arts administration and general office dutiesΒ 
  • Acting as professional gallery representative and docent to patrons/tour groupsΒ 
  • Ensuring artwork and patron safetyΒ 
  • Programming assistance – event planning, set-up/tear-down, and staffingΒ 
  • On-campus representative for the galleryΒ 
  • Opportunity to participate and curate in student-run gallery spaceΒ Β Β Β Β 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented and team player
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Availability for some evenings and weekends

Details:

  • Hourly Wage: $18.81/hour
