Job Description:

A Brief Overview

The lead role of Donor Development & Philanthropy cultivates a comprehensive strategy around major gift development for both the Great River Health Foundation and the Henry County Health Center Foundation. While being active and engaged within the Mount Pleasant community, this experienced professional will also lead the organization's one-on-one donor cultivation through engagement, follow-up, and the building of long-term professional relationships. Successfully executing planned giving and annual campaign strategies will be key to success.

What you will do

  • Develop and implement a multi-year strategy for growing and strengthening annual and legacy giving. Identify, engage, cultivate, and solicit key stakeholders to deepen their investment in the organization's mission.
  • Assemble various stakeholder groups to evaluate planned giving opportunities including the identification of naming-rights strategies on all health system properties. Identify current and future needs which could be financially supported by the philanthropic community.
  • Devise and implement an engagement strategy to build relations and stay informed about current events within the assigned community. Be a visible and active member of the community.
  • Evaluate and execute cost-effective fund-raising strategies that engage a targeted audience and deepen relationships with donors.
  • Be visible and active on the assigned campus to build relationships and connect with other departments.
  • Lead the strategy behind impactful events through engaging stakeholders, soliciting major sponsorships, aligning logistical support, and continually increasing the net revenue goals.
  • Identify and engage other foundations for appropriate funding opportunities.
  • Work closely with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to ensure alignment, effective communication and collaboration are consistently maintained and successfully executed.
  • Maintain legal, contractual, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Business, Marketing or Relevant Field (required) or
  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) With more than 10 years of fundraising experience
  • 4-6 years Fundraising experience (required)
  • 1-3 years Specific experience with planned and/or annual giving (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships
  • Ability to construct, articulate, and implement annual strategic development plan
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
