Skills and Requirements
  • Successful track record in overall project management of philanthropy initiatives
  • Knowledge of project management, exposure to legal and compliance would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both oral and written, as well as successful experience in negotiations and presentations. Good written and communication skills in English. Proficiency in any two Indian local languages will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work with and elicit the support of Corporations, Individuals, Foundations and Government bodies.
  • Scientific temperament and inquisitiveness in the fields of science and engineering
  • Growth mind-set and can do attitude.

The overall purpose of this position is to facilitate philanthropic support of the IEEE core purpose of fostering technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. The successful applicant is primarily responsible for driving the implementation and fund development for IEEE India Philanthropy programs and initiatives that align with the IEEE strategic plan. The role reports to the IEEE India Philanthropy Manager. This individual is expected to work independently, with supervision from the manager as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Philanthropy Program Management (60%)
  • Ensure that the actiivties related to IEEE India Philanthropy initiatives are implemented within the deadline as per the agreed terms with funding collaborators and other supportive collaborators
  • Design detailed project plans for programs to be added to the portfolio of IEEE India Philanthropy programs, at the regional level, in line with IEEE missions and local needs/resources.
  • Coordinate with local IEEE volunteer leadership and Geographic Units to support and coordinate existing IEEE India philanthropy programs in collboration Manager
  • Support in finalizing the report for the funding entities on time in collaboration with IEEE India Philanthropy team
  • Fundraising 30%
  • Support in IEEE India Philanthropy marketing and communications efforts to promote programs and giving opportunities to donors and the community. Includes but not limited to regular donor correspondence, reports, gift acknowledgement, web presence, articles, and print and electronic newsletters.
  • Support in designs and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major and annual giving opportunities that will sustain and grow IEEE India philanthropy programs and activities by raising at least US$250,000 annually in individual capacity.
  • Support in implementation of processes, programs, and information technology systems that effectively and efficiently solicit, accept, account for, steward, recognize, and manage relationships with donors. Includes but not limited to donor database and online giving portal.
  • Relationship Management (10%)
  • Coordinate and support IEEE members and volunteers part of IEEE India Philanthropy initiatives
  • Support in partnering with organizations with similar interests and driving initiatives.
Travel Information
  • 25% Domestic and International 25% travel for the coordination of the IEEE India Philanthropy initiatives
