Scope of Responsibility:

To manage and develop philanthropic funding streams across Trusts, Foundations, and Major Donors, achieving agreed targets in line with organisational objectives. Reporting to the Strategic Partnerships Manager - Fundraising & CommunicationsΒ 


Key Areas of Responsibility:Β 

  • Managing and developing philanthropy and grant funding streams to achieve targets in line with organisational objectivesΒ 
  • Stewarding a diverse portfolio of existing and new philanthropic partners to ensure lasting and impactful relationshipsΒ 
  • Promoting and developing Depaul’s potential to a wide range of supporters and key target audiencesΒ 
  • Identifying, securing, and stewarding new philanthropic funding partners, including trusts, foundations, and grant making bodiesΒ 
  • Supporting and inputting to the development of Depaul’s Philanthropy Strategy, including major gift and legacy giving.Β 
  • Providing consistent relationship management for trusts, foundations, grant making organisations, and major donorsΒ 
  • Developing a calendar of relevant and interesting engagement communications and events, as well as a range of appropriate acknowledgement and recognition opportunitiesΒ 
  • Creating compelling and visually engaging proposals and ensuring timely and comprehensive responses to opportunitiesΒ 
  • Delivering excellence in impact reporting and storytellingΒ 
  • Leading on processes and procedures required for the development of philanthropic funding, including prospect research, development, and pipeline managementΒ 
  • Developing strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, to ensure up to date knowledge of Depaul’s services, strategic plans, and future ambitionsΒ 
  • Working with staff across the organisation to ensure funded projects are effectively monitored and evaluatedΒ 
  • Maintaining detailed, accurate records on all aspects of philanthropic funding utilising our CRM system (Salesforce)Β 
  • Reporting regularly on philanthropy income pipelinesΒ 
  • Keeping up to date with trends and best practiceΒ 
  • Acting as an ambassador for Depaul and living our valuesΒ 
  • Preparing ad hoc reports and presentations when requestedΒ

Person Requirements:Β 

  • Third level degree in communications, business/marketing, liberal arts or another humanities subject is essentialΒ 
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in fundraising or relevant discipline in NGO sector; ideally 1 year fundraising experienceΒ 
  • Proven ability of excellent communications to broad range of stakeholders and to engage and motivate supportersΒ 
  • Excellent content development and writing skillsΒ 
  • Collaborative, relationship building approach to working with colleagues within own and other departments and externallyΒ 
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills and the ability to complete projects within tight time constraints and balancing multiple competing work demandsΒ 
  • Advanced level IT skills, ideally with CRM system experienceΒ 
  • Graphic design experience desirable but not essential.Β

Our Benefits

Annual Leave Up to 3 years' service: 25 days per year
3 years' up to 5 years' service: 27 days per year
Over 5 years' service: 30 working days per year (Exclusive of bank and statutory holidays)
10 public holidays each year with Good Friday as discretionary day.Β 
Day off and day pay for Christmas Day, St.Stephen's Day, and New Year's Day worked for shift workers.
Non-Shift Workers: Paid day off on public holidays.
Shift Workers: Expected to work on public holidays; receive an additional day of annual leave in lieu.
Non-Rostered Employees: May be entitled to one-fifth of the normal weekly rate of remuneration for the public holiday.
