Hours: 37hrs per week (MonβFri)
Salary: Β£32,707 per annum
Contract: Fixed Term Control Until 31st March 2026
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Senior Project Support Officer to provide programme and project support within a complex; multi-partner initiative focused on improving outcomes for people experiencing multiple and overlapping disadvantages. Working closely with senior leadership, the postholder will play a central role in planning, coordinating, and supporting the effective delivery of a range of workstreams and projects.
The role requires strong project management skills, the ability to work across organisational boundaries, and confidence supporting governance arrangements at a senior level. The postholder will contribute to the development and maintenance of effective systems, processes, and reporting, ensuring delivery is well-coordinated, monitored, and continuously improved. Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality programme and project support to senior leaders, supporting planning, coordination, and delivery across multiple workstreams
- Take responsibility for coordinating specific projects, working with internal teams and external partners
- Develop, maintain, and quality-assure project documentation including plans, briefing papers, correspondence, risk registers, and delivery schedules
- Support governance arrangements by organising meetings, preparing papers, taking minutes, tracking actions, and liaising with chairs and members
- Coordinate administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth running of strategic and delivery activity
- Monitor progress against plans, identify risks and issues, and support escalation and resolution where required
- Produce clear, timely programme and project reports for internal use and external stakeholders
- Support workstream leads with planning sessions, workshops, reviews, and other delivery activity
- Contribute to the development and improvement of project management systems, processes, and governance arrangements
- Present information and explain complex issues to a range of partners and stakeholders
- Support project closure activity, including post-project reviews and capturing learning and lessons
- Provide guidance and support to administrative colleagues and team members when required
- Contribute to learning, monitoring, and evaluation activity, including supporting effective data collection
- Carry out the role in line with organisational values, promoting equality, diversity, inclusion, and collaborative working
- Undertake other reasonable duties aligned with the role and offering development opportunities, with appropriate support
Requirements - Proven experience providing project or programme support within complex or multi-stakeholder environments
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Sound understanding of project management principles, tools, and governance
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders, partners, and external organisations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear briefing papers and reports
- High level of competence in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently, use initiative, and collaborate effectively as part of a team
- Understanding of, or commitment to learning about, the challenges faced by people experiencing multiple disadvantage
- Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and co-production approaches
