RESPONSIBILITIESΒ Β Β 

Β 

  • Create digital graphics for social media and printed flyers to promote LGBTQ Center events and resources.Β 
  • Help the Center plan and/or create video content for social media and our website.Β 
  • Manage creative projects according to established timelines and accessibility standards.Β 
  • Demonstrate ability or willingness to communicate proactively with supervisors and peers.Β 
  • Develop a social media engagement plan each semester, including program advertisement, educational and informational postings, and LGBTQ+ awareness day/week/month observations.Β 
  • Provide support for LGBTQ Center events.Β 
  • Greet visitors to the LGBTQ Center and actively foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.Β 
  • Provide general office support and maintenance of the Center.Β 
  • Provide peer-to-peer support and referrals for students who need resources.Β 
  • Work 6 hours a week for the LGBTQ Center, which includes weekly one-hour staff meetings and weekly half-hour supervisor meetings.Β

QUALIFICATIONSΒ Β Β 

Β 

  • Must have strong graphic design skills; video production skills preferredΒ 
  • Must have experience working with one or more graphic design and flyer-making software programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, etc.); willingness to learn new tools.Β 
  • Must have experience working with Instagram and a willingness to learn other social media platforms; experience creating engagement strategies preferredΒ 
  • Must be available for staff training at the beginning of each semester employed (the weekend before classes start), which will be compensatedΒ 
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of historically marginalized students’ experiences and needsΒ 
  • Must always carry oneself as a representative of the LGBTQ Center, a student leader, and a role model for one's communities and Ithaca CollegeΒ 
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality with Center documents, meetings, conversations, and visitorsΒ 
  • Must be enrolled as a student at Ithaca CollegeΒ 
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5Β 
  • Must be in good academic standing for the term prior to starting and during the entire period of employmentΒ

  • Starting pay for this position is $16.00 an hour.Β
