JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Veteran Services Officer, responsible for coordinating and monitoring the progress of Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Emergency Financial Assistance Grant Program.Β 

* This is a grant funded position and could potentially be eliminated, if funding is not acquired, after the grant ends. *

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

  • Manages grant development timeline ensuring appropriate documentation is submitted in timely manner to meet requirements
  • Balances and reconciles grant expenditures and revenue
  • Reports all grant financials on a monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual basis
  • Conducts outreach within community and attends events to promote program
  • Determines eligibility of Veterans for appropriate assistanceΒ 
  • Works closely with the Veteran Services Officer in granting eligible VeteransΒ 
  • Works closely with Williamson County Auditor’s Office
  • Assists with policy and procedure updates
  • Provides direct customer service either in person or on the telephone to Veterans
  • Creates and maintains various reports related to assigned assistance group
  • Creates and maintains forms, worksheets, and informational materials
  • Ensures comprehensive filing systems are maintained and up to date
  • Cross-trains with office staff in other areas to ensure continuity of departmental operations
  • Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
  • Performs special duties as assigned

  • Reports directly to – Veteran Services Officer (Director of Veteran Services)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing and occasional lifting/carrying
  • Traveling throughout county for community outreachΒ 


ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

  • Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment
  • Travel between worksites, as required
  • May require the use of a personal vehicle


IRREGULAR HOURS

  • Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
  • May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency
  • Regular attendance is required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field and two (2) years of accounting/grant management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experienceΒ 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required within thirty (30) days of employment

  • Valid driver’s licenseΒ 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSΒ 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Two (2) years of Federal and State experienceΒ
