Essential Duties:
Supporting and Enhancing Foundation Relationships
- Assist foundation engagement team and field staff in prospecting new foundation relationships and stewarding relationships with current foundations for the benefit of Young Lifeβs ministries
- Perform prospect research on foundations β researching, qualifying, and prioritizing foundations that are viable partners for Young Life programs across our mission
- Equip field staff to further identify alignment with a foundation, communicate effectively about our mission, and determine the appropriate next steps of engagement
- Gather program information, metrics, and budgets from mission staff relevant to the need for which funding is being sough
- Support and provide information to field staff or foundation engagement team staff in their efforts to successfully craft and submit high-quality, professional, and captivating grant proposals
- Draft persuasive letters of inquiry and proposals to foundations
- Β Assist in proofing and editing communications to foundations to improve the rate of grants successfully funded through effective storytelling and increased proposal volume
- Assist in managing the funds received in alignment with excellent standards of stewardship
- Track grants awarded
- Interpret grant proposal requirements
- Maintain proposal records
- Assist with reporting how grant funds were used
- Track reporting timelines established by the foundations according to their grant cycles
- Draft and submit compelling reports to foundations to provide assurance of how their funds were used and to further engage them in our work
Other
- Work in partnership with the Foundation Engagement team members to achieve department goals and report on the progress of goals.
- Work in partnership with Development Services staff, campaign directors, and field staff across the mission to provide a high-level of support and service.
- Carry out other duties as assigned to support the major foundation work.
- Fundraise $5,000 per year in personal support.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree with two to four years of relevant work experience
Working Conditions:
- Remote work or office environment in Colorado Springs, CO
- Minimum of quarterly travel required in addition to in-person onboarding in Colorado Springs, CO
- Expected to be available in-person or online during standard business hours in current time zone (8 hours per day)
Experience Required for the Job:
- Past proposal or professional writing required.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Proven experience in positive interpersonal interactions.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in persuasive writing.
- Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Specific Working Conditions:
The anticipated salary for this position can range from $48,308-$60,462 depending on relevant education, experience, and location.
