Job Summary
The Foundation Philanthropy Officer, Donor Relations supports all external fundraising of the UMC Foundation respective of Childrenโ€™s Miracle Network and responsible for all Donor relations communication and stewardship.

Reports to: Foundation Director, Philanthropy

Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
โ€ข Oversees all aspects of Donor recognition and stewardship which includes but is not limited to recognition pieces, annual gifts i.e., Valentineโ€™s Day, Veteranโ€™s Day, Christmas, and special donor occasions such as memorials and special occasions for Major Gift Donors
โ€ข Assists the Director of Philanthropy in all Campaign activities such as gathering information for proposals, follow-up with committee members, scheduling meetings, etc.
โ€ข Plans and executes the UMC Foundationโ€™s premiere Donor Relations event, the UMC Gala. This will include working with the Gala Co-Chairs to coordination all functions of the Gala Committee and the Director of Philanthropy for the Gala Underwriting Committee, respectively.
โ€ข Provides ongoing screening and research of potential donors
โ€ข Research and drafts project proposals to be utilized in donor and foundation solicitation and support the major gift function and efforts
โ€ข Provides follow-up and oversight for Foundation funded projects and provides timely updates / tracking on projects
โ€ข Provides leadership and support to all major gift special events
โ€ข All other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field
โ€ข +2 year of experience in fundraising, preferably in a healthcare

Skills and Abilities
โ€ข Ability to design and implement successful fundraising programs
โ€ข Able to establish and maintain effective relationships with donors and volunteers
โ€ข Effectively cope with change and able to operate in the midst of ambiguity
โ€ข Proficient with a donor software system and also Microsoft Office Suite
โ€ข Skilled in communicating in individual and group settings

Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
Interaction with the Foundation Board members and other volunteer groups is extremely important Relationships with existing sponsor groups outside of the hospital are to be maintained throughout the year.

Physical Capabilities
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to read, write, listen, and verbally communicate

Environmental Working Conditions
This position is exposed to indoor varying temperature changes
