General Description:

The Senior Manager of Philanthropy will oversee all annual giving, major gifts and special event initiatives including cultivating and stewarding current and potential donors to maximize resource development effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Chief Advancement & Community Engagement Officer and organizational leadership to develop and implement diversified fundraising strategies around emerging organizational projects and priorities.
  • Manage and grow a targeted portfolio of current and prospective major gift donors through best practice cultivation and stewardship activities to achieve strategic revenue growth.
  • Track movement of all prospects through donor cycle (identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship).
  • Manage the development of the annual giving campaign to secure individual gifts for health center initiatives, programs, and healthcare services.
  • Guide the annual appeal process, including mailed and digital appeals.
  • Manage content creation and deployment of targeted philanthropic correspondence including the annual report, solicitations, proposals for individuals and stewardship materials to engage donors and prospects.
  • Lead design tactics and long-term engagement strategies for special events, annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, and planned giving.
  • Collaborate with the community engagement team to design tactics and long-term engagement strategies for special events, annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, and planned giving.
  • Create and implement major gift pipeline strategies using prospect research tools and targeted donor communications.
  • Provide oversight to ensure donor data integrity through data entry, gift processing, prospect research, and relationship management using donor solutions tools (ex. Bloomerang)
  • Displays compassion to others and is approachable by other members of the care team
  • Train staff on donor database protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct research and prepare comprehensive biographical profiles on donors and prospects in support of solicitation and stewardship efforts.
  • Prepare advancement reports, fundraising updates and other appeals as needed.
  • Maintain current understanding of community challenges, health center goals and initiatives to effectively communicate to donors and at community events.
  • Develop event timelines and checklists using digital resources (ex. Outlook, Monday.com, google docs, or related platforms).
  • Support the development of volunteer initiatives with health center priorities.
  • Support all health center communication strategies.
  • Attend internal and external meetings, community stakeholder activities, special events and related activities as directed.
  • Hire new staff, create onboarding plans, provide performance management, and motivate, recognize, and engage staff
  • Build trust and create a psychologically safe environment for the care team to speak up.
  • Promote service to others and coach CTMs on providing accessible healthcare for all and maintaining service excellence
  • Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times
  • Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupt timely patient flow through site.
  • Contribute to community give back initiatives and be an advocate for Premier’s mission
  • Adhere to patient care needs and the core values of Premier Community HealthCare to a provide best-in-class patient experience
  • Work towards attaining department goals and drive Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA)
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory responsibilities: Indirectly and directly oversees staff involved in philanthropic efforts

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of private philanthropy and the fundamentals of nonprofit resource development
  • General understanding of project management methodologies and techniques for community engagement
  • Keeps current on fundraising best practices and trends
  • Process and comprehend information rapidly and accurately
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with attention to detail accuracy while adhering to deadlines and working under pressure
  • High degree of skill navigating technology, from database management to social media and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exercise good judgement and discretion while handling confidential and financial information

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Public Affairs, Marketing, Communications or related field required
  • 5 years of experience in fundraising required, working with a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, development/fundraising, sales, community outreach, special events or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of management experience preferred
  • Obtain and maintain annual compliance training throughout employment
