The LGBTQ+ Advocate Specialist will use a strength-based approach to provide academic and cultural support to students/families and school staff while promoting an understanding of student perspectives and assisting with integrating school and family goals for the greatest academic success of the student. The LGBTQ+ Advocate will have related advocacy experience and be a contributing member of the Youth Development Team serving LPS schools. Teamwork, collaboration, and flexibility are required.
Bachelor’s Degree required in Education, Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred
Experience working with students and/or families from diverse backgrounds particularly related to gender or sexual orientation preferred.
This position will start ASAP and will remain open until filled.
Full Year Calendar: 260-day / 8 hrs
Salary: $21.08 per hour plus leave, benefits, and a generous retirement package.
This position is subject to a veterans preference.
