Description

Position Summary:

The Grant writer works under the direction of the Director of Planning and Development to complete research and respond to funding opportunities that meet the Agency’s financial goals and objectives.Β  This role is critical to ensuring the agency has the funding to meet its goals and objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Research and Identify Funding Opportunities

  • Conducts on-going research to proactively identify funding sources including grants, foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with the Agency’s mission and programs
  • Monitors grant opportunities, requests for proposals (RFPs), and funding trends relevant to the agency’s programs and overall development strategy.
  • Coordinates with the Planning and Development team to maintains a comprehensive database of potential funding sources and grant deadlines

Grant Proposal Development

  • Collaborates with program managers and other team members to gather necessary information, data, and project scope for grant proposals
  • Develops compelling grant proposals that articulate agency alignment with funder guidelines, priorities, and objectives
  • Clearly articulates the organization's mission, goals, and community impact in grant applications, emphasizing the significance and accomplishment of FCCAA programs
  • Writes persuasive narratives and project plans that incorporate measurable outcomes and realistic budgets

Grant Application Management

  • Manages the end-to-end grant application process, ensuring timely submission of high-quality proposals
  • Coordinates with relevant internal stakeholders to gather supporting documents, financial data, and program statistics for grant applications
  • Maintains accurate records of submitted and pending grant proposals
  • Tracks funding outcomes and reporting requirement

Relationship Management:

  • Cultivates and maintain relationships with program managers, funders, and other key stakeholders
  • Attends networking events, conferences, and meetings to stay informed about funding opportunities and build connections within the community that enable funding and fundraising
  • Collaborates with the development team to develop donor strategies and cultivate long-term relationships.

Reporting and Development

  • Documents performance on existing grants and works with program management staff to submit progress reports that meet grantor requirements
  • Supports the Director of Planning and Development in writing and producing the Agency’s annual report
  • Works with programmatic staff to develop marketing and outreach materials
  • Provides communication and fundraising support for special events
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, public policy or closely related experience (or equivalent combination of skills and experience)
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in grant writing, fundraising or business development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising processes
  • Ability to understand programs and organizational funding requirements
  • Strong research skills and knowledge of statistical information resources
  • Exceptional multitasking, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential materials with integrity

Computer Skills

  • Advanced MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using creative software (Adobe, PhotoShop, etc.) to create compelling marketing and outreach content

Additional Requirements

Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Must have reliable transportation to facilitate funding visits

Ability to successfully pass Federal and State criminal background check and State of Pennsylvania Child Abuse background check
