Responsibilities Include
Foster strong relationships within Finance and business partners to align on needs particularly related to our new revenue streams and public space initiatives, while identifying opportunities for technology-driven process improvements. Monitor operational metrics across cash operations, accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policy and procedures (25%).
Monitor departmentβs email and ticketing system and liaison with internal and external customers to resolve inquiries while working with the team to ensure adequate coverage available and provide hands-on support to maintain continuity and efficiency (25%).
Help with support system upgrades and new releases by assisting with testing and communication rollouts for our team (25%).
Serve as a key partner to the VP of Shared Services and Risk Management supporting planning and executing of departmental projects. Support the departmentβs roadmap by prioritizing system enhancements and driving continuous improvements in efficiency and customer experience (25%).
What Youβll Bring
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelorβs degree in accounting, Finance or Business strongly preferred or relevant work experience.
Minimum Years and Type of Experience
Minimum of 5 years of business experience in operational accounting responsibilities with 3+ years of management experience.
Experience and understanding A/R, A/P, Cash/Revenue functions is a must.
Knowledge of large integrated ERP systems preferred
Necessary Knowledge and Skills
Strong PC skills, including competence excel
Ability to identify problems, develop solutions and take action to resolve issues.
Detail-oriented, strong critical thinking skill, ability to perform in-depth research, account analysis and reconciliation.

The salary range for this position accounts for a wide range of factors including but not limited to organizational need; specific skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and more. At the National Geographic Society, individuals are typically hired at or near the starting point of the salary range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
The salary range for this position is $98,800 - $104,000

Job Designation
Hybrid - At the Society, we believe in the advantages of coming together to build community, mentor and learn from colleagues, and connect more deeply with our mission. As a result, the majority of our staff are Hybrid. Our Hybrid category requires that staff work at Base Camp two days each week: every Tuesday and Wednesday. Hybrid staff are also always welcome to come in additional days each week if preferred.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
